<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of making a projection image brighter as compared with a conventional projector. <P>SOLUTION: A projector includes: an illumination device; a light separation optical system; an optical modulation device having a plurality of pixels; a first microlens array having a plurality of first microlenses; and a second microlens array having a plurality of second microlenses. The light separation optical system separates light from the illumination device into first color light, second color light, third color light, and fourth color light. One pixel of the plurality of the pixels has four sub pixels for modulating each color light. One first microlens of the plurality of the first microlenses makes each color light incident into each sub pixel, and one second microlens of the plurality of the second microlenses deflects each color light so as to decrease an angle between optical axes of optional two beams of the color lights out of the optical axes of the color light, and collects and condenses each color light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
