<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide precursor slurry (precursor) comprising a liquid raw material having a clay mineral composition containing a plurality of metal ions which constitute smectite, and a method for producing a mass-producible and industrially excellent synthetic clay, which enables clay synthesis by preparing the precursor and heat-treating it. <P>SOLUTION: In the precursor slurry (precursor) comprising the liquid raw material having the clay mineral composition containing a plurality of metal ions which constitute smectite, a starting material for the precursor comprises magnesium nitrate hexahydrate, silicon dioxide, sodium oxide, sodium hydroxide and water. The method for synthesizing clay includes heat-treating the precursor at 200-500°C under atmospheric pressure for 10-48 h. Additionally, in the method, the heat treatment is divided into two stages and after the first heat treatment, the resulting intermediate product is pulverized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
