<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device capable of preventing toner from leaking out from both ends of a developing roller to outside of the developing device, and to provide an image forming apparatus using the same. <P>SOLUTION: A developing device 1 comprises: a developing roller 4 which carries toner on its surface and rotates; a supply roller 5 which supplies the toner to the developing roller 4; and a doctor blade 6 which regulates a layer thickness of the toner supplied by the supply roller 5 and carried on the surface of the developing roller 4. The developing device 1 is configured to pressure-contact a tip of the doctor blade 6 in the developing roller 4 side with the developing roller 4. At both ends 4a, 4b of the developing roller 4 in an axis direction, a groove part 8 having a concave shape and capable of storing excess toner regulated by the doctor blade 6 is formed along a circumferential direction of the developing roller 4 around the entire circumference, and a toner scraping member W1 is provided along the groove part 8 to scrape out the toner stored in the groove part 8. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
