<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic device that allows easy editing of an address book, and to provide an editing method and an editing program. <P>SOLUTION: A portable telephone 1 includes a communication unit 31, a storage unit 34, and a control unit 35 which, when an e-mail including address book information constituted of one or more pieces of address information is received by the communication unit 31, stores the address book information in the storage unit 34.
