<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remotely control a terminal in a LAN with reduced management cost. <P>SOLUTION: In response to the reception of a request including certain identification information through a WAN (2), a gateway (10) constituting a terminal control system (1) searches a first database (110) to identify a control device (20) that can control a terminal (30) in a subnet (4_n) associated with the certain identification information. Through communication in conformity of HTTP, the gateway (10) instructs the control device (20) to control the terminal (30). In response to the instruction, the control device (20) searches a second database (210) for a MAC address (MAC address of the terminal (30)) associated with the certain identification information.
