The present invention resolves a problem caused by the viscosity of an oil-soluble skin care agent and makes it possible to form large coatings. This problem is resolved by a method for producing an absorbent article, the method being characterized in comprising coating a top sheet (30), at a proportion of 0.5 to 3.0 g/m2, with a coating solution (80) obtained by adding a water-soluble thickener to an oil-in-water emulsion of an oil-soluble skin care agent and bringing the viscosity of the solution to 1.5-4.0 m·Pa/sec in a process for producing an absorbent article.
