<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle seat slide device that allows more appropriate durability to be set for a spring having a function of biasing a locking member for locking relative displacement of rails and a function of retaining an operation member, individually. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle seat slide device includes: a locking member 30 that selectively locks relative displacement between a lower rail 3 and an upper rail 4; a release handle 6 which is interlocked with the locking member 30, and is turned on a contact part in contact with a support wall part 22 provided in the upper rail 4 to transmit operational power for releasing the locked relative displacement; and a spring 41 having a first biasing part 45 that is fixed to the upper rail 4, extended in one direction from the fixed position and biases the locking member 30 to a side of locking the relative displacement, and a second biasing part 46 that is extended from the fixed position in the other direction to elastically hold the release handle 6 to come in contact with the support wall 22.
