<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of properly displaying a stereoscopic video in accordance with a position of a viewer, and further to provide a video processing method. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a video processing apparatus comprising: viewer position detection means; display means; and viewable region control means. The viewer position detection means detects a position of a viewer on the basis of a captured video. The display means is capable of switching and displaying a plurality of parallax images and a setting screen. The viewable region control means is set to a first mode or a second mode and sets a viewable region in which the plurality of parallax images displayed on the display means can be stereoscopically viewed to a region according to the position of the viewer. When being set to the first mode, the viewable region control means sets the viewable region in synchronization with instructions for adjusting the viewable region from a user. When being set to the second mode, the viewable region control means continuously sets the viewable region on a steady basis.
