<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for video and voice processing capable of suppressing a processing load on the video and voice processing device side, and a method for video and voice processing. <P>SOLUTION: The video and voice processing device includes: a source apparatus disposed inside a cabinet; a terminal disposed on the cabinet; and a control device, connected to the terminal and the source apparatus inside the cabinet, having a connection detection unit for detecting the connection of the source apparatus and for outputting a connection detection signal to the source apparatus. The source apparatus includes: a communication address candidate memory; and a communication address acquisition unit for performing, when receiving the connection detection signal from the control device, communication address acquisition operation by polling, using communication address candidates read out from the communication address candidate memory in a predetermined order, and for notifying the control device of the determined communication address together with a physical address. The control device confirms whether the source apparatus disposed inside the cabinet could acquire the communication address, if the communication address could not be acquired, outwardly notifies of that effect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
