The invention relates to an electric motor (1) of a motor vehicle, such as a pure electric vehicle or a hybrid vehicle, having a housing unit (2), the interior (3) of which accommodates a stator (5), wherein a connection is realised by means of a component (11) designed to conduct electrical current in conjunction with the stator (5) and a component outside of the housing, such as a converter, and the housing (2) has at least one opening (10) for guiding through the component (11) designed to conduct electrical current, wherein the opening (10) is present on a radial circumferential surface (9) of the housing (2). The invention also relates to an electrical axle of a hybrid drive with such an electric motor (1).
