Disclosed in an embodiment of the present invention are an access point access method, terminal and access point device, used for balancing the loads between access points and ensuring the communication service quality between the terminal and the access points. The method in the embodiment of the present invention comprises: the terminal obtains the total surplus channel capacity of each access point of N number of basic service set (BSS) networks, the terminal being located in the common area of the N number of BSS networks, and N being a natural number greater than 1; and the terminal selects from the access points of the N number of BSS networks the access point with the maximum total surplus channel capacity for access.
