INPUT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PORTABLE TERMINAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel operation mode by pen input.

SOLUTION: A portable terminal includes: a pen that has a button and generates first input having a first electric signal and second input having a second electric signal depending on whether or not the button is clicked, respectively; and a touch device that detects whether or not the pen performs a touch and generates a detection signal of the first input or the second input depending on the detection result. An input method includes: a step of analyzing input detected through a touch panel by the touch by the pen; a first input processing step of performing a function set in correspondence with the first input in an application being executed when the input is the first input having change in the first electric signal; and a step of invoking a set application or executing a set instruction when the input is the second input having change in the second electric signal. The first input includes general input, a handwritten character, and drawing for controlling operation of the application being executed. The second input is an instruction word for invoking a specific application and an instruction word for instructing execution of specific operation.
