<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automotive headlamp apparatus having a simple structure to reduce the cost. <P>SOLUTION: The automotive headlamp apparatus includes a light source having a plurality of LED chips arranged in a matrix form and capable of irradiating in front of a vehicle with light, and a control unit for controlling lighting-up and lights-out of the plurality of LED chips included in the light source. The plurality of LED chips includes a plurality of high luminance LED chips 12d for emitting light toward a first section included in an irradiated range in front of the vehicle, and a plurality of medium luminance LED chips 12e for emitting light toward a second section which is included in the irradiated range and is different from the first section. The control unit includes a first drive unit for driving the plurality of high luminance LED chips which are divided into the number of groups fewer than the number of the high luminance LED chips 12d per each group, and a second drive unit for driving the plurality of medium luminance LED chips which are divided into the number of groups fewer than the number of medium luminance LED chips 12e per each group. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
