摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor with excellent wear-resistance capable of obtaining a halftone image with high picture quality in which occurrence of interference stripes and image unevenness are suppressed, and an image formation method using the electrophotographic photoreceptor. <P>SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor includes at least an electrical charge generating layer and at least two electrical charge transmitting layers laminated on a cylindrical substrate in this order. The cylindrical substrate included in the electrophotographic photoreceptor has a cutting shape having a periodical cutting irregularity in a center axis direction on an outer peripheral surface thereof, satisfying formula (1): &Delta;L&ge;10 &mu;m [in formula (1), &Delta;L representing a difference of a maximal value and a minimum value of cycle width of the cutting irregularity in the center axis direction in an image area of the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical substrate].
