ACCESSORY, CAMERA BODY, AND CAMERA SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict usage of a communication system which is not used in an upgrade process in a camera system having a plurality of communication systems.

SOLUTION: Two communication lines of a command data communication (communication performed between body side contacts BP3 to BP6 and lens side contacts LP3 to LP6) and a hot line communication (communication performed between body side contacts BP7 to BP10 and lens side contacts LP7 to LP10) are arranged between a camera body 100 and accessories such as the interchangeable lens 200. The data for upgrading firmware of the interchangeable lens 200 are transmitted to the lens side contact LP4 side through the body side contact BP4 for the command data communication. The interchangeable lens 200 executes upgrade of the firmware by using the transmitted upgrade data. The interchangeable lens 200 inhibits reception of a signal via the lens side contact LP7 while performing the upgrade, so as to inhibit usage of the hot line communication.
