The objective of the present invention is to provide an optical axis ascertaining device for an in-vehicle camera by which adjustment/correction of the optical axis of the in-vehicle camera can be easily performed. The optical axis ascertaining device is provided with: an image processing device (2) (image recognition unit (20) and a tracking unit (21)) which detects and tracks a stationary obstacle (for example, a wheel stopper arranged on the ground) by image recognition on the basis of an image acquired by a rear camera (1); and, for example, a rear wheel rotation sensor (3) which functions as a sensor for detecting a movement distance of the vehicle. The direction of the optical axis of the in-vehicle camera is ascertained on the basis of the attachment position of the in-vehicle camera and the movement distance of the vehicle from the point where the stationary object being tracked is no longer in the area which can be captured by the rear camera (1) due to the approach of the vehicle to the point where the stationary object contacts the vehicle. |
