<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure which is suitably used as a catalyst carrier for exhaust gas purification. <P>SOLUTION: In the honeycomb structure 100, a partition wall 1 defining and forming a cell 2 includes small pores 16 having a pore diameter of less than 14 μm and large pores 15 having a pore diameter of not less than 14 μm. The porosity of the partition wall 1 is 50-70%, and the porosity of the large pores 15 of the partition wall 1 is not less than 30%. The ratio of the total volume of the small pores 16 to the total volume of the large pores 15 is not less than 20%. In a graph showing the pore diameter distribution of the partition wall 1, the pore diameter at a maximum peak value of the large pores 15 is 20 to 200 μm, and the pore diameter at a maximum peak value of the small pores 16 is 0.1 to 8 μm. Furthermore, a value obtained by dividing the porosity value (%) of the large pores 15 by the thickness value (μm) of the partition wall 1 is not less than 0.2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
