<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a vehicle rear structure that can relieve the concentration of stress acting on a rear lower end of a side member outer panel. <P>SOLUTION: At a rear lower end 52 of a side member outer panel 50, a base plate 56 continued from a rear end flange 54 and provided with a side surface 56A oriented outward in a substantially vehicle width direction, an erection part 58 bent at the base plate 56 and erected outward in the vehicle width direction, and the top 60 bent at an end of the outside in the vehicle width direction of the erection part 58 and provided with a top surface 60A oriented outward in the vehicle width direction are formed.
