摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power consumption reduction technique at a power saving mode in an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, an image forming device comprises: a primary side smoothing circuit 4; a secondary side power outputting section 6; a load 92; a relay 7; and a relay controller 8. The primary side smoothing circuit 4 to which power from commercial power supply 91 is input is provided with a rectifying element 41 and a capacitor 43. The secondary side power outputting section 6 to which the power is input from the primary side smoothing circuit 4 via a transformer 5 is provided with a charging element 62. The power is supplied to the load 92 from the secondary side power outputting section 6 and the load 92 outputs a power saving mode transition signal at a power saving mode. The relay 7 is disposed between the commercial power supply 91 and the primary side smoothing circuit 4. When the power saving mode transition signal from the load 92 is input to the relay controller 8, the relay controller 8 cuts off a current carrying state between the primary side smoothing circuit 4 and the commercial power supply 91 by the relay 7 and causes the power to be output from the secondary side power outputting section 6 to the load 92 by discharging of the capacitor 43 and the charging element 62. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
