SKIN WHITENING COMPOSITION THAT CONTAINS (2Z, 8Z)-MATRICARIA ACID METHYL ESTER AS ACTIVE INGREDIENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin whitening composition that contains the active fraction of an Erigeron breviscapus extract or (2Z, 8Z)-matricaria acid methyl ester separated therefrom as active ingredients.

SOLUTION: The active fracture that is fractionated with a solvent from the extract of whole plants of erigeron breviscapus and (2Z, 8Z)-matricaria acid methyl ester compound that is separated from the active fracture inhibit melanogenesis with no cytotoxicity in the melanogenesis cell, and thus may be usefully employed as skin whitening compositions.
