<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle control device and a control method by which a travel mode can be properly selected even if requested driving force of the hybrid vehicle is close to driving force of an internal combustion engine equivalent to a minimum fuel consumption rate, and which can improve fuel efficiency of the hybrid vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: For every shift stage for power of the internal combustion engine regarding vehicle speed VP and requested torque TRQ for a drive wheel, an engine travel region where a small total fuel consumption rate is obtained in an engine travel mode in travel modes, an assist travel region where a small total fuel consumption rate is obtained in an assist travel mode, and a charging travel region where a small total fuel consumption rate is obtained in a charging travel mode are set. A travel mode is selected which corresponds to a travel region to which a combination of the vehicle speed VP and the requested torque TRQ belongs is selected, and a shift stage for the smallest total fuel consumption rate is selected as a shift stage for power of the internal combustion engine. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
