<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent transition metal-containing alumina self-supporting thin film which has practically sufficient mechanical strength without including an organic binder and is useful as an inorganic EL element. <P>SOLUTION: The luminescent self-supporting thin film includes: a self-supporting thin film forming component which comprises a fibrous alumina nanoparticle produced by a sol-gel method and having an aspect ratio of 30-5,000 and a nano-order fiber width of 10 nm or less; and a light emission source component containing a luminescent transition metal (such as Tb, Eu and Sm) supported by the self-supporting film forming component. A molar ratio of the transition metal included in the light emission source component relative to aluminum included in the self-supporting thin film forming component is within a range of 1/0.001-1/1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
