<p>A train signal system device comprising a traffic signal chain terminus setting unit, used for setting a terminus location of a travelling train and for emitting a wireless traffic signal. Traffic signal chain relay units are deployed along a rail track to forward the wireless traffic signal and to allow the wireless traffic signal to form a traffic signal chain comprising information on the travelable distance ahead of the train, while a traffic signal chain detection unit allows the travelling train to receive the information of the traffic signal chain and to calculate the travelable distance ahead. A method for detecting the travelable distance of the train comprises the following steps: emitting the wireless traffic signal at a station ahead or a train ahead; forwarding the wireless traffic signal via the traffic signal chain relay units deployed along the rail track, thereby forming the traffic signal chain; receiving the wireless traffic signal at a following train; calculating at the following train the travelable distance between same and the station ahead or the train ahead on the basis of the wireless traffic signal received. The train signal system of the present invention allows for enhanced protection on train safety.</p> |
