The device has multiple receiving regions (3, 4, 5) for receiving glass beverage bottles (6), beverage tins (7) and beverage cups (8) and comprising separately arranged identification units (3.1, 4.1, 5.1) and retaining containers (3.2, 4.2, 5.2). The receiving regions, the identification units and the retaining containers are formed as interchangable modules and controlled by a common controller. Coupling units dock a module to a base housing (1). The receiving regions are formed one above the other in the base housing, and a channel-like supply unit (4.3) is arranged behind the containers.
