摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a hole block layer which is applicable even if a base material contains resin based material, while being excellent in basic characteristic such as high photoelectric conversion efficiency.

SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a hole block layer includes: a liquid layer formation step in which a liquid composition containing zinc source which contains bis (acetylacetonate) zinc, complexing agent which contains acetylacetone, and polar solvent is caused to contact a surface of a member which is to form a hole block layer, so that a liquid layer made from liquid composition is formed on the surface of the member which is to form the hole block layer; and a drying step in which the liquid layer formed in the liquid layer formation step is heated so that the complexing agent and the polar solvent are evaporated from the liquid layer, thereby forming a hole block layer containing zinc oxide on the surface of the member which is to form the hole block layer.
