摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubbing material for a liquid crystal panel substrate in which pile pieces 14 are pushed down by thick ground warp yarns 12 and made strongly slant in a weaving width direction W. <P>SOLUTION: In a rubbing material formed as a warp pile-woven fabric for a liquid crystal panel substrate, thin ground warp yarns 11 and thick ground warp yarns 12 which constitute pairs each other are repeatedly arranged in a weaving width direction, a pile yarn 17 is arranged between the thin ground warp yarn and the thick ground warp yarn which constitute a pair each other, and a pile yarn creeping through under a weft yarn 13 over which the thin ground warp yarn and the thick ground warp yarn which constitute a pair each other pass together forms a pile piece 14 which is locked to a weft yarn creeping through under the pile yarn.
