PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable image forming output corresponding to engine characteristics of an image forming output without degrading image quality.

SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 refers to nozzle characteristics information indicative of characteristics of nozzle ejecting ink; simulates an image forming output result by the image forming apparatus based on the image where a gradation of an original image is converted; calculates an error by converting a simulation result into a gradation of a pixel of the original image and comparing it with the original image; and determines one of the a plurality of gradation-converted images as input drawing information based on the calculated respective errors about the simulation result on the plurality of gradation-converted images having different gradation-conversion modes.
