<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable valve device that can improve low-temperature startability of an internal combustion engine. <P>SOLUTION: The variable valve device (40) includes: a variable valve mechanism (50) operable to vary working angles of air intake valves (16a, 16b) without changing lift amounts of the air intake valves of the internal combustion engine (10); and a control unit (70) for controlling the variable valve mechanism to advance the valve closing timing of the air intake valves relative to a non-low-temperature start of the internal combustion engine, at a low-temperature start to start the internal combustion engine at a temperature lower than a predetermined temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
