PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for controlling refinement in a ladle furnace are provided to reduce operation time by adjusting the carburizing material injection time and power supply time when the fine components in molten steel are adjusted after completion of refinement. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling refinement in a ladle furnace comprises an electrode rod(120) which heats molten steel in a ladle(101) according to a power supply; a breaker(160) which switches power to the electrod rod on and off from the outside; and a control unit(180) which switches off the breaker to cut off the power supplied to the electrode rod, and switches on the breaker to supply power to the electrode rod when a carburizing material is inserted to the ladle for adjusting the composition of the molten steel.
