<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To normally deploy the rear-side end of an airbag while preventing it from contacting an occupant, and to surely cover a vehicular inner side wall in the range of the deployment. <P>SOLUTION: A first air chamber 33A and a second air chamber 33B adjacent to the front side are partitioned at a vehicular rear-side end of an airbag 10, and the lower ends of both the air chambers 33A, 33B are made to communicate with each other through a communication part 33C. The airbag 10 is sequentially folded back along first and second folding lines 40, 41 intersecting with each other through the upper side of the communication part 33C, and thereafter folded from the lower edge toward the upper edge to be mounted to the vehicle. In inflation and deployment, the airbag 10 deploys toward the lower side of the vehicle, and the second air chamber 33B is inflated by inflowing gas to terminate the folding-back of the second folding line 41. Subsequently, the folding back of the first folding line 40 is terminated, the gas flows in the first air chamber 33A to inflate the first air chamber 33A, and the airbag 10 inflates and deploys up to the rear-side end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
