<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thrust enhancement device for enhancing thrust of a fountain propulsion device. <P>SOLUTION: The thrust enhancement device 1 includes a gas discharge port 40 and a gas introduction device 50. One or more gas discharge ports 40 are disposed in a region where an axial high-speed water current flows in the fountain propulsion device 30. The gas introduction device 50 includes at least one gas introduction tube 51. An air intake 52 at an upper end of the gas introduction tube 51 is disposed at a predetermined position of a hull, and a lower step portion of the gas introduction tube 51 leads to the gas discharge port 40. The pressure near the gas discharge port 40 promptly decreases by Bernoulli's theorem to be the negative pressure when the high-speed water current in the fountain propulsion device 30 flows through the gas discharge port 40.
