METHANE-HYDROGEN MIXTURE PRODUCTION PROCESS

The invention relates to a production process for the methane-hydrogen mixture containing mainly H2 and CH4 for production of hydrogen, alcohols, ammonia, dimethyl ether, ethylene, for the Fischer-Tropsch processes, it may be used in the chemical industry for hydrocarbon gases processing and as a fuel in gas turbine drives of compressor stations, in transport, for electric power generation and in methane- methanol thermochemical water splitting cycles. The developed process solves the engineering problem of enhancing the methane-hydrogen mixture production efficiency. This is achieved through natural gas treatment by water vapor with follow-up heating of the mixed gas flow in the heat exchanger and conversion of contained hydrocarbons in the adiabatic reactor filled with catalyst packing. The novelty of the process lies in heating of the mixed gas flow to 350 - 530 °C. When conveyed through the adiabatic reactor the flow is repeatedly heated to 620 - 680 °C and passed through, at least, the second adiabatic reactor while maintaining the outlet volume content of methane at 33 - 48 % and hydrogen - at 35 - 44 % of dry gas.
