The device has a building platform (22) provided in an installation space (20), where a layer of powder material (10) i.e. polymethyl methacrylate, is applied on the platform and solidifyable by adding a binder (11) to layers (12) of a mold part (13). The installation space is upwardly open so that the powder material and binder are applied through an opening in the installation space, where low pressure (Pu) is generated in the installation space. The low pressure is reduced with respect to ambient pressure about a difference in pressure within range of 950 megabar and 900 megabar. An independent claim is also included for a layer construction method for manufacturing three-dimensional mold parts.
