Disclosed are a data processing method and data processing node, used to process user data when a service node is in an overload state and reduce the load of the service node. The user identification and the user information of each user managed by the service node are correspondingly saved in a backup node, the user information comprising the user data and version identification for identifying the latest modification of the user data. The data processing method comprises: when the service node is in the overload state, the backup node receives a session establishment request transmitted by the upstream node of the service node, the session establishment request carrying a first user identification of the user requiring session establishment; the backup node modifies the user data in the user information corresponding to the first user identification, and updates the version identification in the user information corresponding to the first user identification.
