PURPOSE: A composition and a patch formulation for enhancing transdermal absorption of a drug is provided to improve drug absorption. CONSTITUTION: A composition for enhancing transdermal absorption of a drug contains C14-C20 alcohol and C3-C8 polyvalent alcohol. The C14-C20 alcohol is selected from the group consisting of myristyl alcohol, cetyl alcohol, hexyl decanol, stearyl alcohol, isostearyl alcohol, aralkyl alcohol, and octyldodecanol. A method for preventing or treating infection by Salmonella typhimurium comprises a step of administering the composition to animals. A matrix type patch formulation contains a drug-containing adhesive layer(2) and a release layer(1) on one side of the support(5). |
