The dryer (1) has a gas conduit passing a cooled heat carrier i.e. hydrogen gas, in a circulatory system, and an output terminal (7) provided at a turbo generator for supplying a cooled heat transfer medium. An input terminal (5) receives the medium from the generator. An adsorbing unit (3) dries the medium, and shut-off units (11.1-11.6) stop the circulation system during regeneration phase of an adsorbent i.e. silica gel, in the adsorbing unit, and are operatively connected to an electric actuator. A control device automatically controls the actuator to open and close the shut-off units.
