OPTICAL TRANSMISSION/RECEPTION SYSTEM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmission/reception system which is capable of suppressing the effect of reflected return light without using an optical isolator.

SOLUTION: The optical transmission/reception system comprises: an optical transmitter 1 provided with an EA modulator integrated semiconductor laser 101 which converts an electric modulation signal into modulated output light and outputs it; and an optical receiver 3 to which the modulated output light outputted from the optical transmitter 1 is inputted and which converts it into the electric modulation signal. The optical transmitter 1 is provided with a bias tee 115. An attenuated electric modulation signal V25 attenuated by an electric attenuator 116 is applied to a semiconductor laser 111 in addition to a direct current I11 for driving.
