<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply apparatus having a bridgeless power factor improvement circuit, which does not need a double system control circuit for normal switching operation in order to execute protection operation, and also provide control method therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A switching power supply apparatus 1 comprises a power factor improvement circuit 2 having: a first reactor (L1) connected between a connection point of a first rectifier element (D1) and a first switching element (Q1) and an end of an AC power supply (Vac); and a second reactor (L2) connected between a connection point of a second rectifier element (D2) and a second switching element (Q2) and the other end of the AC power supply (Vac). A switching control section 5 determines aberration occurrence out of the switching power supply apparatus 1 on the basis of either of/both of an output signal from L1 and L2 current detection circuits 6, 7 or/and an output signal from an AC voltage detection circuit 8, so as to stop the first and the second switching elements (Q1, Q2) from switching operation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
