PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spontaneous light emitting display capable of radiating a larger amount of light out of light emitted by a light emission part in the normal direction of a substrate.

SOLUTION: A plurality of columnar light emission parts 104 are disposed on a substrate 101 in a state spaced from each other. Each light emission part 104 is made to have a first conductivity type semiconductor 107 and a second conductivity type semiconductor 108. A low-refractive index member 106 having a refractive index lower than that of the light emission part 104 is disposed so as to come into contact with the side wall of each light emission part 104.
