A piezo-electric ceramic consists of a solid solution of a material having a composition selected from the area ABCDEF in the Pb(Ni 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 ÀPbZrO 3 ÀPbTiO 3 system shown in Fig. 2 and containing manganese equivalent to 0À08 to 5 wt. per cent of manganese dioxide.
