<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of demodulating magnetic data which can shorten processing time for reading magnetic data while reducing the read error rate. <P>SOLUTION: A method of demodulating magnetic data recorded in NRZI format includes; a data read step for reading a data signal at different read-out timings t1, t2 with reference to the rising edge E of a synchronization signal; a first demodulated data generation step for generating demodulated data on the basis of the result of reading the data signal at the read-out timing t1; a first validity assessment step for assessing validity of the demodulated data generated in the first demodulated data generation step; a second demodulated data generation step which is taken when the demodulated data is determined to be invalid by the first validity assessment step to generate demodulated data on the basis of the result of reading the data signal at the read-out timing t2; and a second validity assessment step for assessing the validity of the demodulated data generated in the second demodulated data generation step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
