摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid vehicle control device and a control method that can cause a charging state of an electricity storage unit to be efficiently recovered when the charging state of the electricity storage unit has lowered, and thereby can improve fuel efficiency of a hybrid vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: In the hybrid vehicle V having an engine 3 and a motor 4, a battery 52, and a transmission mechanism capable of transmitting input power to a driving wheel DW while the speed is changed by at least any one of a plurality of shift stages, when a charging state SOC of the battery 52 becomes smaller than a first limit value SOCL1, the engine 3 is operated at BSFC bottom torque for minimizing a fuel consumption rate of the engine 3 for recovering the charging state SOC, and charging preferential travel for performing regeneration by the motor 4 is performed. Further, combined efficiency TE of the hybrid vehicle V is calculated for every shift stage, and a shift stage for the highest combined efficiency TE is selected from the plurality of shift stages when the charging preferential travel is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT
