<p>A method of surveillance for security in public transport is proposed by means of a network of on-board and wayside located cameras (C1, C2,...; C1', C2',...), said cameras communicating with a control unit (SOB, SWS) whereby - a first camera (C4) detects a person (P_X) depositing a package (X) in a located zone, said first camera then triggering a first surveillance mode for acquiring an image data set of said person and of said package, and a second surveillance mode for a permanent video surveillance of said package, - said first camera requests the control unit (SOB) to command said first camera and neighbouring cameras for tracing said person, and to estimate a distance between said traced person and package, and - an alert is emitted if the person or the package is at the wayside whereas the other is on-board or if the estimated distance is greater than a predefined value.</p> |
