The vacuum mattress (1) has foam inserting portions (9',9'',11) that are used for cushioning purpose, and several granules (5) that are arranged in a common gastight envelope (3). The foam inserting portions are isolated by a gas-tight layer (15). The gas-tight layer is welded to the common gastight envelope on the periphery of one or more foam inserting portions. The granules are made of polystyrene. A foam pad is arranged for padding in a central region between the side portions.
