<p>A background model representing a background of a scene being captured by means of an imaging device is updated by accessing data representing a captured image of the scene, accessing background model data, determining coordinates of the captured image in relation to the background model, wherein the background model comprises information representing both the background of the scene being captured and the background of at least one area outside the scene being captured, and updating the background model data based on the captured image and the coordinates of the captured image.</p> |
