摘要 The invention relates to lubrication systems for a jet aircraft engine. This system includes an oil tank 6 with a high level sensor 30 and a unit 34 for monitoring the level of oil in a lubricating system. The monitoring unit 34 includes a first input 36 for a high oil level oil level signal, and a second input 38 for a signal that the engine is running. The monitoring unit 34 includes an output capable of generating an alarm signal 40. The monitoring unit 34 is configured to generate an overfilling alarm signal, provided that the engine is running and the oil level is equal to or greater than the high level over a given period. This double condition avoids false positives, especially for engines subject to the phenomenon of " gulping" , i.e. likely to absorb a fraction of the volume of the oil in the lubrication system while running and returning this fraction when stopped. For these engines the oil level in normal operation is significantly lower than when stopped. These measures can thus provide a reliable means of detecting overfilling and can be implemented using simple and economical methods.
