1,252,593. Conveyers. SIRA INSTITUTE. 25 June, 1969 [28 June, 1968], No. 30970/68. Heading B8A. Tiles 13 may be diverted from a conveyer 11 by a mechanism 10 having pairs of rollers A-D, one roller, the uppermost for example, of each pair being driven, and the lowermost rollers being vertically movable by piston-cylinder units 14 which are controlled by a detector 15. If the detector detects a fault in one of the tiles, the units 14, commencing with the unit of roller pair A, are successively actuated and the tile, engaged by the rollers, is diverted on to a subconveyer (not shown) aligned with the mechanism 10. The detector 15, by incorporating a counter, may be used to cause a batch of tiles to be diverted, the lower rollers of the pairs A-D being maintained in their raised positions, Fig. 4, until the required number of tiles have been diverted. Pairs of rollers E, F are fixed relative to one another. Endless belts may be used in place of the rollers. |
