Method of using a logging signal to measure cement bonding and concentric cementation before and after a cementation process, the method involving conveying a tool string 8 into a down-hole conduit 90, the tool comprising a down-hole drive tool, a placement tool (2, fig 26) having at least one shaft (6, fig 26) and an axial displacement member (83, fig 26) extendable from the shaft, the axial displacement member having a cutting tool. The drive moves the cutting tool into contact with the conduit to penetrate or cut through the conduit and provide an aperture. Fluid is circulated between the conduit and the annular space between the bore-hole and the conduit for cleaning the space, a logging signal is transmitted through the aperture before and after cementation to provide a measurement of the surrounding bore and provide concentric cementation and cement bonding measurements. |
