1,177,989. Gas purification. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK A.G., and DR. C. OTTO & CO. G.m.b.H. 25 April, 1967 [26 April, 1966], No. 18984/67. Heading C1A. In a two-stage process for the removal of CO2 and H2S from a gas by solvent scrubbing solvent of the same composition is used in each stage and is separately regenerated, in the first stage mainly CO2 being removed and in the second, using trays, each separately supplied with fresh solvent, residual H2S is removed. The two stages may be at the same temperature, preferably 65‹ to 70‹ C., or the second stage may be cooler than this, preferably 50‹ to 65‹ C. The contact time of the gas and liquid in the second stage is preferably less than 10 seconds. The solvent used is an aqueous solution of triethanolamine. An example is given using 35% aqueous ethanolamine operating at 25 atmospheres and 70‹ C.
|
