<p>The present invention relates to apparatus and method for treating clinical analyser wastewater with improved pH control of the water before it is passed to drain. The clinical analyser wastewater treatment apparatus comprises at least a carbonator section, and optionally:
an anodic oxidation section;
a heavy metal removal section;
a carbonator section;
a UV disinfection section;
a pH sensor and/or a conductivity sensor; and
a recirculation after the UV disinfection section to before the carbonator section. Optionally, the clinical analyser wastewater treatment apparatus is able to provide a treated stream having a COD of <2500mg/l, preferably <2000mg/l, and a pH <9, preferably a pH <8.5.</p> |
